How Media achives a surrealist atmosphere within a narritive

For my research project I want to look at a wide array of media, and look at how they have displayed themselfs, and how they have built a surreal atmosphere, may it be in small or large ways. Studying how they have achieved this atmosphere I will be experimenting on how it works, how it can be changed and altered, the implications of it's altering and how I can apply this to my own practice.
